On Friday February 7th we organized our annual event for masterstudents. The event was hosted this year at the VU and around 50 master students from almost all Dutch Universities joined. With this one-day event for students in both theoretical and applied mathematics we showcased the benefits of doing a PhD. The goal is to help students to make their choice whether they want to apply for a PhD or not.

We had two amazing keynote speakers: Valentijn Karemaker (UU) and Mia Jukic (TNO). It is nice to mention that Valentijn was one of the founders of EWM-NL and Mia was in the very first organizing committee of this event! It was great to have them at the event!

We offered three workshops, namely one on "do's and don't's when applying for a PhD", on the impostor syndrome and on the various skills you develop during a PhD. We closed the day with an informal panel discussion with PhD candidates and of course some drinks to chat and get to know each other!
