Nathalie Wahl is a Belgian mathematician, born in 1976 in Brussels, specializing in topology, especially algebraic topology, homotopic theory and geometric topology. She is professor of mathematics at the University of Copenhagen and director of the Copenhagen Centre for Geometry and Topology (GeoTop), a prestigious research centre funded by the Danish National Research Foundation.

She obtained her mathematics license in 1998 at the Université libre de Bruxelles and her PhD in 2001 at the University of Oxford, with a dissertation on ribbon graphics and operas. After postdoc positions in the US and Denmark, she joined the University of Copenhagen in 2006 and became a professor there in 2010.

Her research focuses on in-depth questions in topology, such as homologous stability, loop spaces, mapping class groups and higher-dimensional structures. She has several important publications in these areas and speaks internationally at conferences, including the International Congress of Mathematicians.

Wahl has received recognition for her scientific leadership, including awards such as the Danish Young Elite Researcher Award and her election as a member of the Danish Academy of Natural Sciences.
