Prizes awarded during the NMC

The following prizes were awarded at the NMC in April (see also NMC programme for more details):
The triennial N.G. de Bruijn has been awarded to Lennart Meier for his joint work with Markus Land, Akhil Mathew and Georg Tamme. Lennart held the corresponding De Bruijn lecture during the NMC. Honorable statements were made before Martin Bright for his work with Rachel Newton and for Peter Grünwald, Rianne de Heide and Wouter Koolen.
The Style price for the best mathematical dissertation in the academic year 20252024 has two winners: Leonardo Garcia-Heveling (Radboud University) and Pim Spelier (Leiden University). The winners gave a presentation about their work.
The Indagationes Mathematicae Best Paper Award is won by Robbert Fokkink, Dan Rust and Ville Salo. A lecture on this work was given by Dan Rust.
The KWG Promotion Prize is won by Alain Chavarri Villarello (Free University Amsterdam).
There were three awards to forgive during the poster session:
- First prize: Riya Dogra (Free University of Amsterdam), "Topology of Molecular Braids"
- Second prize: Niek Mooij (Utrecht University), "Coexistence in large systems of competing ODEs'
- Third prize: Corijn Rudrum (University College London), "Non-abelian Selmer group Chabauty for the S-unit equation'
The Pythagoras Prize for the best profile piece:
- First prize: Tobias Crommelin and Dylan Spence, "Never again get a note"
- Second prize: Femke Maat, "SET!"
- Third prize: Elise van der Sanden and Janneke Bax, The Creation of the Crazy Chroma Challenge
