We regret to inform you that Chris Zaal died on 29 September.

For years, Chris was a driving force behind the Bachelor's degree in Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam, where he as training director thoroughly renewed the curriculum. He also contributed a lot to the mathematics community, including as editor-in-chief of Pythagoras and the New Archives for Mathematics. Chris was at the base of modernising the New Archive for Mathematics, which, thanks to his commitment, took the form and appearance it now has.

The KWG Board wishes its next of kin much strength at this difficult time.
