Winter Symposium 2026
The Mathematics behind Networks
The annual event for math teachers and other math enthusiasts! This edition we dived into the math behind networks: from language models such as ChatGPT and the dissemination of information through social networks, to networks that play an essential role in research into epidemics and tumors. All these different networks often seem surprisingly similar when you look at them through mathematical glasses. The four lectures showed how graph theory, stochastic processes and differential equations help to describe and understand networks.
